
Guy Simpson – Managing Director
As Managing Director, Guy Simpson is responsible for the day-to-day operation of The Marlo Group which includes the Sales process, Marketing, the cultivation of long term Client Relationships, Customer Satisfaction, the creation and maintenance of The Marlo Group’s Core Values and our People Capital Program.
With 21 years experience in the Information Technology Industry (IT), Guy Simpson has worked in many capacities. From 1986 to 1992 he worked in Business Development and then Melbourne Sales & Branch Manager of Norfolk Data, one of Australia’s largest Computer and Software Reseller.
In 1992 he founded Somerset Systems (Australia’s most successful and technically competent IBM Middleware Business Partner) with three business partners with his role being Sales & Marketing Director. In 1999, Somerset Systems was acquired by Candle Corporation and he was appointed as the Asia Pacific Alliance Director for IBM.
While acting in this role, he also created the first dedicated WebSphere Consulting and Services Practice set up specifically to address the needs of businesses in Global Mid Market segment in Australia.
His final role at Candle was to once again take control of the Sales function in the Southern Region where his team successfully delivered their 2004 sales quota by December 2003.
Guy co-founded The Marlo Group with Bruce Twite and Brian Fitzgerald in 2004.

Bruce Twite – Enterprise Integration Services Director
Bruce has over 20 years local and international experience in Information Technology. The early part of Bruce’s career was directed to the research and development of enterprise scale application development frameworks to support the deployment of large scale enterprise solutions across heterogeneous computing environments.
Bruce’s R&D prowess culminated in the late 80's with the release of one of the industry's first write once, run anywhere repository based, integrated application development platforms for the creation of distributed applications across mainframe, mid-range and desktop systems.
Bruce's extensive R&D background in object technologies culminated in a move to Europe in the mid 90’s to join the CSC Advanced Systems Group for Object Technology.
On return from Europe, Bruce joined Guy and Brian at Somerset Systems leading the delivery of EAI solutions in the banking, retail and utility sectors.
Bruce is a leading EAI/SOA visionary who has been instrumental in the introduction of Service-based Architectures into a number of leading Australian corporations.

Brian Fitzgerald – Technical Director
Brian has more than 20 years experience in the IT industry. In his early career Brian was engaged in the engineering of large scale application systems in the UK Finance and Banking sectors.
Brian joined Somerset Systems in 1994, initially focussed as a technical expert in networking protocols and application design and development where he delivered sophisticated solutions involving the integration of heterogeneous systems via IBM MQSeries. As a Senior Consultant with Somerset Systems, Brian achieved a reputation as one of the nations leading experts in the use of IBM Middleware technologies.
With the 1999 acquisition of Somerset Systems by Candle Corporation, Brian continued with the company further specialising in integration disciplines, adding additional integration platforms to his portfolio and leading the design and implementation of a large number of solutions in the communications, banking and retail industries.
Brian co-founded The Marlo Group with Guy and Bruce in 2004.

Geoff Kilby – Practice Director
Geoff Kilby has over 25 years consulting experience in the management of information technology and strategic business planning. Geoff has consulted extensively amongst Banking, Financial Services and Insurance, Utilities, Telecoms, Government, Mining and Travel and Transport; both in Australia and overseas, with particular focus on IT Strategy, Governance, Architecture and Management.
In the 15 years prior to joining The Marlo Group as Practice Manager in 2005, Geoff has previously held positions that include:
• Consulting Practice Manager at Oakton
• National Principal A/NZ for IBM Consulting Group
• IT Consulting Partner at Deloitte
• Consulting Director and Partner at KPMG
In recent times, Geoff has delivered an IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture for a leading financial services firm; led post merger IT re-organisation for a major Insurer; led the delivery of an Enterprise Integration framework for a major bank and operated as an interim CIO, implementing IT Governance processes for one of Australia’s major financial institutions.
Geoff is an affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a member of Institute of Management Consultants and is a certified IBM Professional Consultant.
